Han Duck-soo, the acting president of South Korea, made the significant announcement that the United States India, South Korea, and Japan have all been parties to tariff talks that President Donald Trump has initiated. The United States government's approach to trade policies in the Asia-Pacific region is likely to change as a result of this move.

The administration of President Trump has been actively reshaping U.S. trade policies, putting an emphasis on the significance of bilateral trade agreements. Imports from key allies like the UK, Australia, South Korea, India, and Japan have been subject to broad tariffs of at least 10% in recent actions. The Response of South Korea During discussions with President Trump, who reportedly expressed satisfaction with Seoul's position, Acting President Han Duck-soo communicated South Korea's position. Han said that if necessary, he would get in touch with Trump directly once more, particularly to improve cooperation on shipbuilding and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Although profitability is still uncertain, South Korea is considering joining the Alaska LNG project to support gas export initiatives in the United States.
